The 57-year-old Galtier has been without a job since the summer after he was immediately dismissed following his first season at Paris Saint-Germain, despite winning the Ligue 1 title.

In Qatar, he finds a squad with a few names we still recognize from European fields, and the star of the group, at 31 years old, is Philippe Coutinho, who has been playing for the club for several months.

Al-Duhail is the defending champion of Qatar and has had a decent start to the new season: they have earned ten points from five games so far. Furthermore, they are soon to face Al-Nassr in the Asian Champions League, the Saudi club of players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané. The club hasn't disclosed the duration of Galtier's contract, but French media report it's a deal until 2025 with an option for an additional year.
