For De Bruyne, things went wrong early on in the first league match at Turf Moor. The 32-year-old Belgian suffered an early injury in the game and had to be substituted in the 23rd minute.

It was a hamstring injury, as clarified by Guardiola on Sky Sports. "He got injured in the same spot as in the Champions League final, and he'll be sidelined again for a while. The recovery after the final went well, but now we've lost him again. It's time to reflect and talk to the doctors about what happened," the coach explained.

Losing De Bruyne cast a shadow on an otherwise positive evening for City, who secured a relatively easy victory (0-3) with two goals from Haaland and one from Rodri. There was one instance during the match when Guardiola got visibly animated. This was during halftime, facing Haaland. It was evident how the Norwegian received a talk from the passionate tactician on the field. The conversation centered around Haaland's earlier interaction with Bernardo Silva when he didn't receive the ball from the Portuguese player.
