Brobbey made his debut for the Netherlands in the European Championship qualifying match against Greece, but Koeman doesn't seem to be impressed by the 21-year-old forward yet. "I still hope that he continues to develop. During the international break, we were working on finishing, and you could see that his first touch and the way he finished were not good," the national team coach recalled on Rondo.
"Then I wonder, what have you been doing at the clubs where you've played? Johnny Bosman, with all due respect, should become the striker coach he's looking forward to. But how long has he been at Ajax? Then he went to Leipzig, came back... As a coach, wouldn't you work on that? It's not about getting fitter but about finishing."
According to Koeman, this is something that can be learned. "If you train every day on finishing, you'll become technically better at it," the national team coach concluded. Brobbey might have a chance for redemption, as the Ajax forward has been included in the pre-selection for the European Championship qualifying matches against Ireland and Gibraltar.
