"The lack of a certain structure, a certain calm," Maduro pointed to this as significant problems during the press conference after the PSV - Ajax match.
"The club is currently working on fixing that. When you look at other clubs, you can see there's a clear hierarchy and calm. Decisions are made better in that environment. That hasn't been happening over the past two years, leading to constant changes in personnel. It trickles down to the team and eventually onto the field. That's what has happened in the past two years. It's just painful."
These problems resulted in Ajax ending up at the bottom of the Eredivisie. "It's somewhat misleading as we have games in hand. We know we won't stay there, especially if we play like we did in the first half against PSV," Maduro remains positive at the Philips Stadion.
"We'll collect many more points this season," assures the Ajax coach. "We shouldn't be looking at other teams but at our own team. We need to make progress, and that's how the team will grow. It hurts for everyone who loves Ajax, which is why I say we won't remain at the bottom, I'm a hundred percent sure we'll gather points; it will get better."
