Messi comes alive in the United States: 'He is much happier here'

Lionel Messi will not have regretted his choice for Inter Miami in the near future. This sentiment is also confirmed by coach Gerardo Martino.

Martino observes a significant change in Messi's emotional state since he switched from Paris Saint-Germain to the United States this summer. The Argentine World Cup champion has already scored eight times in five matches. Martino attributes this surge of goals to a 'calmer' Messi.

"You can see it on the field," Martino stated during a press conference. "I don't really need to tell you, but he is much calmer, much happier. Being happy also has to do with where he comes from."

Copa Libertadores
The Messi effect is evidently visible at his club, to the extent that, according to journalist Hugo Balassone, they might even receive an invitation to the Copa Libertadores. The current tournament for South American clubs is still ongoing, but for the 2024 edition, Messi's North American team could be welcomed by invitation.
