Fábio Silva had a less than pleasant weekend at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Portuguese led to the decisive penalty in Saturday evening's away game against Sheffield United.

Silva, who last season played for PSV on loan from the winter break, came onto the field at Bramall Lane after 81 minutes and received a yellow card for a foul just a minute later. Deep in stoppage time, things went completely wrong for the Portuguese.

The striker was brought on to make a difference in attack for Wolverhampton, with the score level, but in the 90+9th minute, he brought down opponent George Baldock in the penalty area. After the VAR reviewed the footage, the ball was placed on the spot, and Oliver Norwood shot Sheffield to their first league win of the season.

Silva was inconsolable immediately after the game and left the field in tears. Teammates tried to cheer him up, and Sheffield player Gustavo Hamer also sought out the former PSV player. Silva has not scored in the Premier League for Wolverhampton this season. However, he did find the net against Blackpool in the League Cup.
